Along the rocky shores of Phuket's southern-most tip, lays Nai Harn Beach -- another of the island's heavenly strips of sand. The beach is powdery and white, the waters calm and crystal clear, and development on the beach itself is minimal -- really!
Seriously lacking in shade, Nai Harn is a favourite spot for sun-bakers -- if you don't have an umbrella, expect to burn to an absolute crisp. The beach also has some quite reasonable snorkelling toward the southern headlands and a mask and set of fins can be easily rented for around 150B.
The main reason that Nai Harn is pleasantly under-developed is courtesy of the Samnak Song Monastery which occupies most of the land off the centre and southern stretch of the beach. As with western Mae Nam Beach on Ko Samui, the temple's location brought development in the immediate area to a complete standstill -- what a shame there wasn't a large temple in the middle of Patong! Back off the beach, development has also been restricted by a large reservoir where locals fish and go for morning jogs.
Of the few accommodation options that are near the beach, most are up-market and new developments tend to be time-shares and private villas. Budget travellers are better off heading to Ya Nui Beach to the south or at the one cheapie spots on Ao Sane just to the north (through the Royal Phuket Yacht Club).
Nai Harn is very quiet and there's little in terms of dining, shopping, or entertainment on the beach itself. A greater selection of restaurants, shops, and some decent mid-range digs can be found a 10-15 minute walk further inland in what might be called Nai Harn town.
Booking Terms and Conditions:
1. By submitting this Booking Form you declare that you are over 18 years of age. All villas are non-smoking villas.
2. In the event of a booking being requested within 30 days or less prior to the date of arrival, the whole rental plus the security deposit will be payable.
3. In the event of a booking being cancelled more than 30 days prior to the date of arrival, a refund will be issued less an administrative charge of 20% of the total paid.
4. In the event of a booking being cancelled within 30 days of the date of arrival, only the security deposit will be refunded.
5. The security deposit will be repaid within 7 days of the date of departure usually in cash but also by bank transfer if requested less any deduction to cover the cost of damage or loss. In the event of any damage or loss costing in excess of the security deposit, the owners reserve the right to claim the balance from the person making the booking.
6. All bedrooms have a standard 2 person occupancy, for guests requiring extra beds this may in some cases not be possible and in other cases it may be possible at additional cost.
7. Pets: If you wish to bring pets to the property please ask as some villas do not allow pets of any sort
8. Travel Insurance: Each guest must have comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation, flight delays, loss and damage to baggage and other property) and health insurance (including evacuation and repatriation coverage). Liability insurance is also recommended required.
9. Force Majeure: REAL shall not be responsible for any delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by events outside of REAL's control such as civil disturbances, fires, floods, severe weather, Acts of God, and any occurrences outside the control of the REAL.
10. Complaints: REAL cannot be held liable for interruptions of the supply of water, or electricity, or Internet connection or breakdown of swimming pool filtration systems, though REAL will use our best endeavours to arrange for any such problems to be solved quickly. It is understood that infrastructure, local standards and conditions are often of a less developed nature in a remote resort location than in more urban environments. REAL or its representative will do as much as can be reasonably expected to avoid and rectify. Any complaints should be made in writing to REAL within 24 hours of the occurrence. No complaints will be considered if made after the departure date.
11. Conduct & Behaviour: Each tenant is responsible for the correct and appropriate behaviour of the guests staying at the Villa. Adhering to booking terms and conditions is the tenant's responsibility. Should any member of the party behave in a manner considered inappropriate, either REAL or the local representative may at their absolute discretion ask the offending guest or guests to vacate the Villa forthwith.
No refund can be claimed from the Lessor in such case. Owner or his representative may enter the villa at any time. It is also prohibited to act unlawfully in any way whatsoever and to bring in and/or use/consume any illegal substances. Police authorities will be immediately informed of any offenders.
